iCAT 3D Imaging

Dr. Sims’ practice is one of three in the state of Alabama to utilize an in-office iCAT 3D Dental Imaging System. This technology allows for a broader spectrum of dental services to be performed during short office visits, from diagnosis to treatment.

The cone beam imaging produces high-definition digital images while exposing the patient to less radiation. Additionally, the scan time is minimal, lasting approximately 20 seconds, and images may be produced in under a minute. The iCAT system is also designed with the patient’s comfort in mind, allowing patients to sit upright in an open environment while scans are recorded.
